Preparing a sea towage enquiry

Route and the tow’s condition matter as much as the tug. This checklist supports an initial discussion; it is not a towing plan or technical approval.

Prepare your enquiry

  • Give departure, destination, dates, intermediate calls, access restrictions, local contacts and any fixed delivery deadline. Identify planned Turkish Straits passages for Türkiye, Black Sea or Marmara routes.
  • Share vessel name/IMO where applicable, length overall, beam, forward/aft draft and laden or ballast condition. Explain propulsion, steering, damage and available towing connections; photos and a technical sheet can follow.
  • The responsible parties assess the tug, towing arrangement, route, weather window and permissions for the project. Missing measurements may follow; distinguish estimates from verified measurements and state what needs confirmation.
