Prepare your enquiry
Preparing an urgent vessel recovery enquiry
Call first; do not delay contact to collect documents. Distinguish known facts from estimates. This guidance does not replace emergency authorities or the vessel’s emergency procedures.
Prepare your enquiry
- Identify the vessel, your role and a reachable contact. Give the latest position with its time, reported incident, crew situation, damage, propulsion/steering condition, requested assistance and unknowns.
- Send available photos, particulars and reports when safe and practical, without unnecessary personal data. Identify the owner/operator, appointed agent and coordinating parties; an office contact is not necessarily authorised for the operation.
- Agree whether Lion Offshore’s role is direct operations or coordination of suitable tugs, specialists and equipment. A casualty report alone does not prove a towing need. Confirm availability, mobilisation and responsibilities for the case.
